A Beautiful same sex wedding at Moat House Acton Trussell, Staffordshire

Wedding photography at the Moat House Stafford

This was only my second wedding this year 2020 due to everything that has been going on in the world and it is also my last of 2020. Safe to say we ended this years wedding season with a bang! It was an amazing intimate wedding at the Moat house Acton Trussell located in Stafford that was perfect in every way.

I think its safe to say on the run up to the wedding day tensions were high and with the new Covid19 regulations coming into play many people didn't really know what was going on. Despite all of the madness Hannah and Sophie stayed strong and from the very beginning they said to me they will be getting married in 2020 no matter what!! Their positivity paid off and on the 1st November 2020 they both got to say I do!

If you want to see an overview of the whole day check out their amazing images at the end of the blog!

Bridal Preparations

I started the day around 09:30. I arrived at the Moat house and was taken to the Bridal Suite where Hannah was getting ready. The bridal suit at the moat house consists of 2 rooms divided by double doors. The living room leading to the bedroom. Those that have been to the bridal party getting ready it can be quite crazy at times and also very messy, on this occasion it was calm and tidy. We even had to get some music on to break the silence!!

Everything started to become surreal when Sophie and her best man arrived. We even got to play spy's for a minute as the bridal party watched them from the bridal suite window leaving the car and entered the Moat House.

Shortly after I went to see Sophie. It was clear to see who was the most nervous out of the two. They exchanged their Wedding Gifts and continued to get ready. Obviously after they grabbed a beer!

Ceremony

The ceremony was held in the Colin Lewis Suite. The moat house describes it as "Perfect for more intimate ceremonies, this room sits  under the atmospheric oak beams of the oldest part of the building, on the first floor of the Grade II listed Farmhouse". I could not describe this room as anything else they have worded it perfectly.

Family Formals

Looking outside after the ceremony the weather was unfortunately not looking great. With this in mind and consulting with Sophie & Hannah I decided to shoot the big group shot indoors! This was in the Acton Suite where all of the guests can chat and obviously have a drink or two. The Shot turned out great!! exactly how I wanted it to and as descried by Bride Sophie. "It looks like something out of the royal family"

She was not wrong!!

Reception & Evening

To keep the feel intimate The Moat House Team decided to have the reception and the evening events back in the Colin Lewis Suite. This was a great decision! It kept everyone close (Over 2 meters of course) which allowed the room to look full and everyone enjoyed it! With no DJ allowed and dancing permitted Sophie and Hannah had a game of bingo and a quiz night!!

I left the evening shortly after the first dance which was amazing to see in such a small space. Sophie and Hannah's wedding will be remembered not because of the title "Covid Wedding" but it showed how great a wedding can be with the right family, friends and the right team of suppliers. Everyone did an amazing job and the whole day was truly magical!
